The St. Matthew’s Church E.S.L. class is for all people from other countries who would like to develop their ability to use English. The class is registered with the Sydney Anglican Church’s Anglicare E.S.L. Program. Classes are led by a teacher who has a qualification from the University of New England in teaching English to speakers of other languages. There are also two assistant teachers who are well experienced in teaching English to people from other countries.
Our classes are held during school terms on Tuesdays, from 9.30a.m to 11.30a.m., in the hall at St. Matthew’s Anglican Church (Corner of Castle Hill Road and New Line Road, West Pennant Hills). Our students learn and practice English through conversation; games; grammar exercises; singing; and reading (including a short time of reading from the Bible). Recently we had fun with a simple cooking lesson! | |
| We always have a break during our lessons for morning tea. On the last day of each term, we usually have an outing to a place of interest. Last year we visited Darling Harbour, Queen Victoria Building, and the Anzac Walkway at Concord. St. Matthew’s Church offers this service to our community free of charge. We welcome new members and warmly invite you to visit us. For more information, please contact the St Matts Office or Click Here. |
