 | ExodusThe opening lines of Exodus 20 set the context for the ten commandments, ‘I am the LORD your God who brought you out of Egypt…’ The 10 words are addressed to an already saved community and so are not rules for how to get right with God but instructions for living in a right relationship with God. We discover in these 10 commandments that worship, time, families, life, sexual intimacy, property, honesty and contentment all belong to God and therefore these commandments supply the wisdom for living as a citizen in the Kingdom of God.’ |
