This prayer group meets at 6.30am (concludes at 7.00am) on Tuesdays and has done so for many years.
It’s hardly surprising that the Biblical principle of “where two or three are gathered” has been, on some days quite literally true, and the number attending is always fairly small. The format is simple, we read a Psalm or part Psalm depending on length & pray in turn as we are led, but usually covering adoration, praise, thanks, and prayers of intercession to our great God.
Sometimes folk have some printed prayer points with them, sometimes not. At times the prayer “theme” just evolves with a person picking up on the thoughts of the previous person.The “feeling” of the meeting is always encouraging, perhaps because it’s early in the morning and it’s good to start the day reminding ourselves of the Lord and all that He should mean to us. We meet at St. Mathews and it goes without saying that we would love to have a few more folk to share in the blessings. Time for group prayer is hard to find in our busy lives but maybe this rather unusual time may be possible for you!
