The Book of Numbers records the period in the people of Israel's history, from the encounter with God at Mt Sinai to the preparations to enter the Promised land of Canaan.  Numbers covers a period of 'wilderness wanderings'  of approx. 38 years and 9 months and spiritually explains more than just history.  The book is a complex story of unfaithfulness, rebellion, apostasy and frustration, set against the background of God's faithfulness, presence, provision and forbearance.
