The Chinese music ministry mainly comprises the worship team, Voices in Praise (VIP), which leads the congregation in worshiping the Lord every Sunday; and a small singing team, which offers a more traditional hymn offering every quarter.
VIP was formed in 2003 with its vision of:
"we live to worship the Lord with passion in spirit and truth".
Since its formation, VIP has been joyfully serving the Lord with worship music, sung in Cantonese and Mandarin, accompanied by piano, drums, guitar, and occasionally other instruments such as bass and flute. VIP's mission, as its name suggests, is to praise God wherever we are, and to lead the congregation, through the Holy Spirit, to worship the Lord in unity every week.
Prayer has been a crucial part of each Saturday night's practice session for VIP and it is the most important key to fulfilling our mission. Outside of our own church VIP has led worship in inter-church events organised by the Chinese Christian Youth Summer Conference. VIP enjoys every worship session, and the team has grown and will continue to grow together in Christ through our serving.
