St Matthew's Art Group meets every Thursday morning at 9:30am during the school term. We start with half an hour for a Bible Study and short prayer time, followed by morning tea during which everyone has an opportunity to chat.
10:30 to 12:30 is painting time. Drawing, oil painting, acrylic and watercolour are the media used.
Studying God's word at the beginning sets the tone for the morning's work. Friendships are made over a cuppa and our common interest in creativity binds the men and women in the group together. We also share in other activities including:
- Plein air (out-of-doors) painting
- Group still life painting
- Special teaching mornings on an aspect of art e.g. composition
- Art & Craft Show (occasional event)
- Mission support for Anna & Morgan Powell in Peru
