The bushwalking group organises occasional picnics, bushwalks and other outdoor activities for those church members, friends and family who are interested in spending time together, in a purposeful but relatively informal way.
West Pennant Hills is close to tracts of Sydney sandstone bushland and a walk in the bush can be a real tonic.Without venturing far from the man-made built environment, we can see God’s handiwork expressed in the hills and gullies, the bushland vegetation and sandstone boulders and overhangs.Even better is the opportunity to walk through the bush with other folk, chatting as you go, getting to know each other better. It’s a great way to mix with a variety of age groups.
Walks are usually held on a Saturday, or sometimes Sunday after morning church.Participants can vary over the entire age spectrum, and the pace is as gentle as necessary so that no-one feels too pushed.A stop or two along the way usually allows time for a picnic or ‘cuppa’.
Outings are usually advertised in the church newsletter 3 or 4 weeks in advance. Alternatively, express your interest or ideas to the office staff and we’ll be encouraged to try something new.
