After a number of years working as Associate Minister at St. Matthew's, Ian and Ruth with their children, Samuel, Emma and William responded to an invitation from Bishop Carlos of La Iglesia Espanola Reformada Episcopal (IERE) for evangelical pastors to work in Spain. In February 2008 the family moved to Madrid for language and cultural study and in 2009 Ian was appointed pastor of the Church of the Ascension in the Anglican parish of Seville.
Ian has concentrated his work on building up the biblical knowledge and understanding of the existing small congregation and developing their gifts for ministry, as well as making every effort to connect with the local people.
Please pray for Ian as he continues to teach and encourage his congregation in a difficult environment.
Please pray for Ruth as she cares for the children in a foreign culture, helping them with their schooling, and takes part in the ministry to friends and neighbours.
Pray for the children learning in a second language.
Pray for the Church of the Ascension with small numbers and at this time, meeting in less than satisfactory premises and pray that suitable premises will become available soon.
