Dave and Beck McIntyre, with kids Alyssa, Natasha and Mitchell, are seeking to serve Christ and his church in Japan.
Dave has had a heart for Japan for many years, having been born there to missionary parents. He lived in Osaka until he was 15, attending local school and gaining a native level of Japanese. He then came to Sydney, where he completed his schooling. After university, he worked as a journalist for Japanese and English language news services before attending Moore College to gain his Bachelor of Theology.
He has a desire to serve the church in whatever way he can, but hopes to take part in developing written and other resources for Bible study, for edification, and for evangelism.
Beck grew up in Sydney in a non-Christian home. She came to Christ in late high school after being taken to youth group by her older brother. During university, she was convicted by God to serve in overseas mission in Asia somewhere. Beck studied primary teaching, before teaching for serveral years in both mainstream schools and a school for autistic children. She has a desire to get alongside Christian women in Japan to encourage them in their walk with Christ.
 | Beck and Dave met at university and married soon after Dave's graduation. They see the importance of a Christ-centred family and discipling children and want to model that in a country where there are very few Christian families. They also hope to minister to many people through hospitality in their home, and be active members in the local church. |
In February 2015 David and Rebecca began 6 months training at the CMS training college, St. Andrew's Hall. Following their approval as CMS missionaries in June 2015, they have spent time building relationships with their link churches during the second half of 2015. Their hope is to be a witness in Japan while encouraging local believers to be a witness as well.
